Ring in the New Year at First Night Fullerton!
Tags: entertainment live music Orange County Events new years eve celebrations block party
New Year’s Eve is a great night to celebrate with family and loved ones. If you’re spending New Year’s in Orange County,
First Night Fullerton is a great event to ring the New Year in with a focus on the arts. It’s a family oriented, alcohol-free event with fun activities to celebrate the New Year. The party starts at 7pm and in Downtown Fullerton at Harbor, Wilshire Blvd and Pomona Ave. The streets will be blocked off so that attendees can enjoy the festivities freely!
Admission to “First Night Fullerton” is free, but there are $2-$7 charges for children’s rides and activities. Spare Change will perform at the Wilshire Avenue Community Church at 8pm and 10pm. There will also be ice skating, face painting, street magic, bounce houses, Japanese taiko drummers, and karaoke for all attendees to enjoy. Many restaurants will be open all night, and food booths will also be selling meals on the street. The evening will culminate with 10 minutes of fireworks at midnight.
“First Night Fullerton” is produced by the Fullerton Parks and Recreation Department. “First Night” began in Boston in 1976 as a way to celebrate the nation’s bicentennial by appreciating the visual and performing arts as an alternative to drinking. Fullerton was the first city in California to celebrate “First Night” twenty years ago and remains the only “First Night” celebration in Orange County. Over 10,000 people have attended First Night Fullerton in the past.
“First Night Fullerton” is a great way to celebrate the New Year in Orange County with the family. Great food and activities will provide plenty of entertainment. If you’re in town early, check out the Fender Museum for some insight into the California Gold Rush and art. Happy Holidays!
