With spring in full swing, the residents of Southern California are counting down the days for the opening of one of the most exhilarating events of the year, the Orange County Fair. This annual family friendly celebration is filled with a wide variety of food, fun and mind blowing attractions, from animal races and rides to turkey legs and fried... well... everything. Although it’s not always good for the heart, it is definitely good for the soul. Fair admission tickets start at just $11 for adults, so grab a few friends and plan your trip to this memorable event today!
The 2011 OC Fair will feature a wide range of concerts, exhibits and special events to give every member of the family a reason to attend. As usual, animal lovers will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of world’s most lovable creatures, including piglets, horses and sheep. On the other hand, if you’re one who enjoys a little competition, there will be a number of contests for craftspeople, farmers and gardeners from throughout the West Coast region to enjoy and even participate in. This is the time to showcase that hidden talent that you’ve been hiding for years. Whether you are coming as a spectator or a participant, there will not be a dull moment throughout the entire month of this fun filled fair.
For anyone interested in music, there will also be a number of both free and low-priced entertaining acts lined up for audiences to enjoy. A few of the main headliners that will kick off the musical main stage include Bob Dylan, Melissa Etheridge and B.B. King. And for all the foodies in the crowd, you can expect to see special cooking presentations from culinary rock stars like Carla Hall of Top Chef, Seafood extraordinaire Rick Moonen and Ace of Cakes’ Duff Goldman. If you’re like most people, attending just one day won’t be enough.
