Come see the Christmas Boat Parade!

If you’re staying in hotels near Disneyland this Christmas, take some time to witness Newport Beach’s premiere event the Christmas Boat Parade! The event has almost 100 years of history and is viewed by over a million people each year.
Newport Harbor is transformed into a wonderland with homes, yachts, docks and landscapes for the holidays. The decorations go up after Thanksgiving until right before New Year. The boat parade takes place five nights in December with three nightly departures. The parade will travel miles of waterfront estates during each evening viewing.
The parade from the shore is a 15 minute event in with 200+ ships and other watercrafts pass by with music. You can view the parade from the Balboa boardwalk on the peninsula, Pirates Cove, and Balboa Island. The lead boats are often in the running for awards. Viewing from a restaurant is about the same as reviewing from the shore. Restaurants such as Newport Landing Restaurant, Harborside Restaurant, Joe’s Crab Shack, Rusty Pelican, Charthouse and Villa Nova are all great choices. Viewing the parade from a ship as part of the Newport Beach Parade is arguably the best, as you can see the parade from beginning to end, see the carolers and experience everything.
Newport Landing offers five ships that offer cruises this month. Christmas and holiday company parties are some of the most popular clientele. The New York Times called the unique experience of being on the water viewing “one of the top 10 holiday happenings in the nation.”
You can still catch one more weekend of the boat parade this weekend! Ticket prices below are for cruises, but you can also view from the shore or a restaurant on the waterfront.
